Shop around prices fluctuate. You can find very decent deals in some nice hotels.but then again college students budget is about as vague as "kollel budget"
Fair enough. Let's say ~200/night. Care to name some nice ones? Should've snagged that IHG venetian promo when it was around...

Read through a few pages of the thread, didn't see my exact situation addressed:
Going to vegas for two night in January, four guys.
Best place on the strip in a college student's budget (split four ways obviously)?
Back when I was in college, we got a great deal many times from Bob Stupak's Vegas World.  You're probably too young to know what that was, but it's worth it to GIYF.  Anyone else remember that pit?

What is your budget? You may not need a dump if splitting four ways.

A nice place is certainly doable in Vegas when splitting it 4 ways. Heck, the top floor suite shall become your home for those 2 nights.

Any specific hotels in mind? There seem to be the ultra-luxury hotels like the Venetian, some clearly dumpy hotels at like $70/night, but then there's tons of hotels in between.

I staid at the Venetian in a suite and it was not that crazy but maybe too much for a "small budget". Certainly affordable when splitting it 4 ways. And don't forget: You can make it affordable with a good winning streak! ;)

Hi,

I'm going to be staying at the Venetian (IHG 25K special!) for a long weekend in March.

I am thinking of walking to shul Shabbos morning, and it looks like Congregation Shaarei Tefilla is the nearest, about 3.3 miles. The walk looks fine, mostly along the Strip.

Has anyone done this? Issues with the walk? How was the shul? Is there kiddush? (Their website is VERY spartan: http://shaarei-tefilla.org/)

Thanks.

Whatever is closest.  Is it worth going to the closest spot, is it a good view?  Whats the time difference/view difference from the closest to the farthest?

The closest to Vegas is the so called West Rim. I've never been there myself, but based on a lot of online reviews, it is not even close to the views you'll get on either the North or South rims which are approximately 3 hours further.
north rim is closer google the distance
-1. Unless we use different Google's...

Though it's not too much of a difference.

I was there recently with my wife the closer one that is. You can't drive up to the glass skywalk anymore yourself. There's an area where everyone traveling has to park go in to buy tickets and they'll take u up with a shuttle. They do make several stops so skip the first one its no point then proceed to the skywalk area. If you wanna go on the skywalk MAKE sure u buy the tickets for it by the parking area otherwise the tribe will rip you off even more. The next stop is another view point that's even nicer than where the skywalk is. Just so u know u don't need to spend for the skywalk but in any case go as early as possible because if you show up in the afternoon most of the canyon will be dark and you'll miss the real deal. Good luck and enjoy!!
P.S. Keep all receipts from the tickets otherwise they will charge you again to go onto the skywalk.
It's worth too much.
