Question:

I just received Total Rewards DIAMOND status...

Which hotel will I have a better chance of getting a nicer suite upgrade when booking a standard room?

Ceasar's Palace, Nobu or Cromwell?

Thank you.
No chance in caesars. Nobu is part of caesars so imagine you won’t get here either. Don’t know about Cromwell

Thank you.

Caesars will give you a junior suite for diamond status.

My question to him was if he got upgraded in caesars Las Vegas or at a caesars palace location other than Vegas.
He said that diamond gets upgraded to a junior suite as a fact. It definitely doesn’t. Even less of a chance at any casino being upgraded with diamond status if the status came through a match and they don’t see any play.

Now I'm torn, wherever to keep the reservation and hope to get the upgrade, or just book in a newer hotel with nicer rooms.

The status wasn't a "match" per se, but it came through a card benefit, so no play involved.

However, I'm still assuming that at least the diamond benefit will save me the absurd daily "resort fees" or is that incorrect too?

It will waive the resort fees. And they can put you in a nicer tower as well just not a suite. I’m sure people have gotten suites but it’s deff not the reg

Understood.

I've received many suite upgrades in the past by just turning on the charm... Including the San Juan suite at the Sheraton when booking the cheapest room... With just simple gold status... So I understand exactly.

The waived resort fees in my opinion is worth taking the chance and booking there.

Thank you

I found Antelope Canyon really interesting.  However, there are many tours going on at the same time.  When we went in, there were about 7 Jeeps parked, when we came out, about 50(?).  They won't allow you to dawdle at all.  It's a "take a picture and move along" mentality.  Forget stopping to take a picture on your way out if the lighting is better.  Not happening.  Although hot, the inside is mostly shaded.  Not the same at Horseshoe Bend.  We "went" but decided to forego the hike due to the extreme heat.  Definitely plan on going back to do it.

Also, regarding Antelope Canyon:  everyone has a different price.  There were two people sitting under a tent.  I asked one how much, they gave a price.  Moved away for a few minutes, went back on the line, this time spoke to the other person.  Different price!

Antelope Canyon was a bit of a tourist trap. Packed wall to wall with Chinese tourists so its even hard to get a decent shot. There are many other canyons that you can visit (some private via tour companies) that are cooler, though it'll cost a bit more.

Horseshoe Canyon was breathtaking. Worth the short hike. Its crazy to see what some people will do there to get a selfie on the ledge. A few people die every year trying....

Leaving vegas now, was here for a few days. Here is some info.
We rented a car from Hertz was cheap and very convenient to have
Stayed at SLS was nice and somewhat quiet because it’s not in the action of the strip.

Restaurants
Anise Tapas
Jerusalem Bar and Grill
Ace of steaks
All were great!!

Simon and Joes - pizza and egg menu items are good. The rest, you never know. For example dessert was “crepes” which was basically warmed up frozen blintzes.
But I was very happy to have at least one decent milchig (cholov yisroel) option. Just keep your expectations realistic.
There are 2 grocery stores listed on Chabad’s website that have kosher items. smith food and drug has a MUCH bigger selection.

Activities
Personally we really enjoyed checking out the attractions in each hotel such as the canal shoppes, ceasar palace, mirage etc
We also drove to mt charleston which has some great hikes.

I thought fremont experience was really gross and low class. Not worth seeing unless you want to ziplining.
