Things to do

Lake George Steamboat- The Minnie HaHa one hour cruise around the lake seems to be the most popular option. Make sure to book in advance during busy seasons as many of their slots sell out.

Fun Spot- Arcades, laser tag, VR, skating, etc. in Queensbury. Only Go Karts and mini golf are open during COVID as of August 2020

High Falls Gorge- Four waterfalls and 2 glass floored walkways in a 22 acre privately owned nature park. About an hour and a half further north from Lake George.

Adirondack Adventure Center Lazy river tubing, whitewater rafting, ropes course and zip line

We Rock The Spectrum Kids Gym Small fun indoor gym and play area for young children in Ballston Spa. Need to rent out the whole place for $45 an hour during COVID as of August 2020

Via Aquarium Smallish aquarium with all the basics inside a mall in Schenectady. Not far from Albany.

Saratoga Spa state park Very large park with mineral springs. The Saratoga Springs area has the only active spouting geysers east of the Mississippi River in the United States, and you can find them all around the park. There are also tennis and volleyball courts, golf courses, the Saratoga automobile museum, a bunch of stunning trails, a nice playground, a gorgeous creek, and some great pavilions (with electricity and bathrooms) for barbecuing or picnicking all inside the park.

The State Capitol in Albany is under an hour away from Lake George, where youíll find Kosher food and minyanim as well as many great museums.

Food

Chabad sells chicken, salmon, and meat meals for $35 per person. There is also a very well stocked Price Chopper in Albany.

Minyan

Chabad in Saratoga Springs often has a minyan, sometimes during the week and sometimes on Shabbos as well. They are extremely strict on wearing a mask that covers your mouth and nose the entire time!

They also have a minyan by Lake George for weekdays during the summer. Email or call Rabbi Rubin for more information.

Shabbos

There are many hotels within a short walk to the Chabad in Saratoga Springs. The Embassy Suites is a 14 minute walk and was chock full of Yidden when @S209 was there. There is a Hilton Garden Inn, a Hilton, a Homewood Suites, and a Residence Inn as well as many others. Hotels are expensive during horse race season but there are no races during COVID as of August 2020.

The Hampton Inn Saratoga Springs  is a 4 min walk from chabad. Thereís a great public balcony for shabbos meals as well as some private ones connected to the actual rooms. Keep in mind that thereís no Eruv in Saratoga.
Chabad also rents out some suites for Shabbos. You can see pictures on their website.

I've stayed in Comfort Suites.  They are so used to having Jews they had compiled a binder with the hechsherim of the breakfast foods.  I still wanted to see the actual packages.  Just don't go during the busiest time to ask them, come in a quieter period and they are not so stressed.

Never went with toddlers, but my kids loved it from age 8 to teenagers.
Fun Spot is great, there is an indoor roller rink, and go carts.
Lots of mini golf.
Great horseback riding.
Best part is to rent a boat on the lake and take a tube attached.   Drag those kids across the water...let them jump out and swim.  There are places you can tie the boat up, I think even in town.
Fireworks at night somebody else mentioned. There is parasailing, jet skiing, wakeboarding, banana boats.
Tubing, white water rafting.  Google Lake George you'll see all kinds of stuff

Ben & Jerrys is the only kosher food. There is a Walmart nearby..you can get alot of stuff but I brought my own food, just supplemented the snacks in Walmart.
There is an outlet mall there, Small Six Flags.
If you want to go to the ropes course, I suggest a reservation beforehand.  We just drove up there once and my kids were disappointed since they had no reservations for the next 3 days.

Minyan started after tisha b'av.  The day right after tisha b'av may be iffy.  We went up once and only had 9.
After that day, it was fine.

There is a Kiruv Camp called Sinai Retreats about 15 min away in Warrensburg. Pretty good food too!

Bet that they would be happy to host families for meals for a few dollars (to a good cause)

Don't think they're open this time of year. This is what a Google search brought up. Maybe try calling one of numbers.
