Shouldn't have overpriced their merchandise.
Or figured out how to make a BOGO sale without including the whole site.

Right, because they were doing extremely well before that.  8)

Shouldn't have overpriced their merchandise.

They weren't exactly overpriced, (I can think of other stores that are a lot more overpriced) but AMZ and WM underpriced them, greatly.
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

Great article, but like my local kmart, the toys r us in NMB was in a crap strip mall.

Look at publix, I see them repeatedly knocking down old stores and building beautiful stores

Who here remembers Kiddie City?
Thats where we got all of our Yom Tov presents.
Then, TRS opened up their stores on the same block as every Kiddie City, and KC closed down. I never forgave TRS.

Article from 2004

Toys 'R' Us Says It May Leave the Toy Business - The New York Times

''It's the ultimate corporate capitulation,'' Burt Flickinger III, a retail consultant, said of the Toys ''R'' Us announcement. ''They killed off all their competition, like Child World and Kiddie City, and declared victory worldwide. But they never saw Wal-Mart catching up.''

It's not rumors but it's not official either.
The news said they are considering to close all stores and will probably do so this week.

As in actually close all the stores this week? Or announce to close.
Dont see how feasible it is to close stores at a moment's notice
