Barclays Arrival Premier: Now transfers to Aeroplan!
« on: June 20, 2018, 11:10:13 AM »
Hi,

I think I'm the first person to break this news (probably since very few people got this card, but it's good for those of us based in TLV for Qantas points): they have already added a new partner -- Aeroplan!

Transfers to Aeroplan are at the same ratio as JAL (1.7:1), see attached image.

There were rumors that they'd be adding partners, so it's nice to see them delivering on the promise.  Hopefully more positive changes will come to this card.

Nice, any other airlines added?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Nope, just the previously mentioned partners + Aeroplan.  I can confirm that the other partners are at the already-known transfer ratios, so no surprises there.

Miles can also be redeemed for GCs at unfavorable rates and the card participates in Barclays' RewardsBoost portal (like the Chase UR Mall or whatever it's called these days).

Also funny that in their approval welcome e-mail, they don't even mention the ability to transfer to partners!  Only travel statement credit, GCs, merchandise, and cashback.  I guess they really do look at transfers as a niche redemption.

1.7-1 I'll rather take the travel credits. QF sounds decent though.

1.7>1 sounds bad. But if you think about it, when earning 1 MR PD (and using for AC) it's 1 PPD, with this it's almost 1.18 PPD

True, and that's why when I'm charging something that won't earn bonus points on a different credit card I'll use my Barclays. But I still won't redeem those points for ac over travel credits where I'll get 2 cents per dollar.

Unless you know for sure you'll reach at least one of the $15K/$25K thresholds, you might be better with a no annual fee 2% card...
