How much information are you sharing with companies?
« on: March 23, 2018, 09:27:12 AM »
I decided this warranted it's own thread. I know we talk about this a lot. And I know that a lot of people know they are giving up access to their personal info but seeing things like this makes you realize just how much information companies have of yours.
Read all the responses as well to get the full gist of things.

We give them permission by accepting their apps.  Read the permissions.  You'll be shocked what we agree to allow them to do.  There are still some companies that don't require an arm and a leg and the other arm and leg.

Just got a call this morning from Citi with an Indian rep who I had a difficult time understanding. Turns out they were recording my voice for fraud protection. There used to be a way to opt out of this with Citi. Here it was just a cold call after activating my new card.

Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Recording or voice recognition?
Recording my voice for recognition at a later time. My first Citi card in my name.

The rep told you that?
Yes and I called Recon for another application and they offered me an opportunity to opt out for that call only.
