Flying to Israel with antibodies
« on: January 18, 2021, 01:40:59 PM »
I am planning to return to Israel soon. I had Covid, and received documentation of recovery in Israel. The Israeli Ministry of Health told me that I do not have to isolate if I show the this documentation at the airport. In order to fly, United requires a competed isolation form. I do not need to isolate and would rather not fill in the form declaring isolation. Has anyone else done this? Was it enough to show United your recovery documentation, or did you need to fill out the isolation declaration?
Thank you,
Yaakov

On the isolation form that United requires, you must only fill in the city name. No address is mandatory.
There is no way they can come check on you.

Why would you care to show United whatever they want? If you're exempt from isolation why would it be an issue once you're there?

After all, this is only about following procedures.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Or just give them 86 Jaffa Road, Jerusalem, 9137001 as your place of isolation...  ;D

Prior to entering the gate area in EWR you need to have two forms. The approved entry form from Israel and the Isolation form from Israel. Are you suggesting I make up a TZ number and address? It's very possible that wouldn't get approved even if I was OK doing it. Have you tried that and it worked?

No. I am unfamiliar with the isolation form. But since you say that you have a תעודת מחלים which exempts you from isolation, yet United still requires that you submit an isolation form, I just suggested what address to put on the form as your place of isolation (that's the address of the MoH).

You can give United whatever they want.
When you land in Israel the immigration officer can 'undo' this for you once you show him the documentation. He has final say no matter what you declare online

Yup. Just like my DW was exempted by the immigration officer because she came from a "green country" - go figure.... Someone's running the show.

My wife just flew in this week. You will need to fill out whatever forms the airline wants you to fill out. Israelis will deal with whether or not you actually need bidud. Filling out the forms wont' effect that
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.
