I need an easy database app or software that can preferably cross platform for keeping contacts of clients that have purchase and or finance requirements. I would like the same database to be able to store clients that have properties to sell.Any ideas?TIA

I don't understand. You can't just make a separate group(s) of contacts on let's say Google Contacts and fill in comments?
Why don't you make one?

My experience is that this issue is common with salesforce. They try to be everything for all industries.

Not if it's done right, especially now that Lightning Experience is pretty mature
I know of a few blue chip companies which started using salesforce and spent millions on it but the system involved makes sense to the executives and is nonsense and cumbersome to everyone who actually uses it and in reality gas cost the company a lot of money in lost sales
Then maybe it wasn't done right Chances are that these huge companies aren't using Lightning (it's a big project to switch over when you are a large company and have lots of customization), but for new companies starting out, LE eliminates a lot of the cumbersome'ness'
The primary issue has been that the platform is not really made for their industry but rather was customized from doing something else to do what they needed it to do. It shows.

My understanding is that they sold them that it is one size fits all once you do a few customizations and that is never the case.
If you're considering MS Access you should also check out Airtable, it's cloud based and easy to customize
