Woman kept off flight for not having middle name on ticket

As far as I know that's only for domestic flights. On international flights there are generally stricter.

I've been on many int'l flights with  many middle names left off the tickets.

Middle names maybe more lenient but dob sometimes can cause trouble.

Meanwhile I did say generally.. not all the time.
But maybe I'm wrong.

Someone just showed me some document that had a field for "current date of birth". I guess in today's day and age, when nothing is binary and everything is fluid, a DOB can change based on various factors.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but for babies sometimes the only way to get a real seat for them is make the age above 2 or whatever... so you need to make up the age since if you dont the the airline wont offer the keep a full seat. You might have to call up and that would be a pain so just make some age and be done with it.

So are you confident on United international if I have passengers middle initial instead of full name
and another passenger who I booked as 18 years old instead of 17 (amextravel doesn't allow 17) it will be zero issue?
And more importantly will she be able to earn miles? I think I once tried adding my daughters AA # to my sisters AA flight who although has same name  is a dif DOB and it didnt work. Thanks for the help because I am still within 24 hours so want to know if I need to cancel it and rebook it through united staight.

For some airlines you don't need the DoB to match to get the miles.

You can call to switch it, say it was a typo.
