Iberia Avios points
« on: April 13, 2018, 09:47:19 AM »
I have approx 90k Iberia avios points. I’d like to use them to book 2 round trip flights to Italy at the end of the summer (I assume I’ll have to supplement a little bit).  What is the best way to use the points for this trip with the least amount of fees/taxes? Any guidance would be appreciated

What's the workaround to transfer from British to Iberia even the account is less than 90 days?

And there has to be some activity in the IB account before transferring.

Can the first ticket booked from an IB account be for a third party or it has to be for the account holder?

Anyone book iberia lately?

I tried today and I keep on getting an error.

Did they suspend Avios tickets or it's a glitch??

I have 86K Iberia avios points about to expire.

Does anyone know if I transfer points from MR, UR or Marriott, WILL IT extend the points for 3 years.

Do a survey on https://www.rewardsforthoughts.com/rewards and you get 500 Avios to your BA account which you can then transfer to Iberia.

Thank you for the idea, unfortunately it says transferring between BA & Iberia don't extend points.

So transfer all your points to BA and the 500 points you get from the survey will keep them from expiring. It takes about 15 mins but it's worth it to stop them from expiring.

Was searching flights tonight using Iberia Avios and it appears that Iberia quietly made a devaluation on their partner (AA etc.) awards. They used to have a RT requirement, with RT cost being 11K, 12K, 17K, etc. Now they are charging the same as BA Avios and one-way is allowed, at 7.5K, 9K, etc. I don't remember seeing this devaluation covered, did I miss it?
