What's the problem with that? Why does it affect you?
Let's say I saved Freddie's number as "Freddie", and not his real life name. True caller will use that to ID him. So if Freddie calls you, you'll see the name "Freddie" show up instead of his real name.

I've seen some interesting names.

Isn't there a bill slowly making it's way thru the terrible political system we have that would make all cell companies work to stop these calls?
ETA: no, just this https://www.wired.com/2017/03/phone-companies-will-soon-no-excuse-not-blocking-robocalls/amp
I'm not who you think I am.

I was trying to figure that out myself. Perhaps because you were the first response to the thread.

That is fine as long as your wife doesn't also use it.

If my kids are around, I give the telemarketers obviously false information. My kids think it's hysterical and definitely worth the 5 minutes of entertainment.

don't see the big deal. drupe does the same it but it doesn't override the name you have in your own contacts.  Helps me know who is calling when I don't have their number why wouldn't I want to help others with the same.
every once in a while a funny name comes up, [i once got one that said "John he called me 10 times Smith") why is that a big deal?
