4 calls in and still no one willing to refund me points difference. Anyone have luck with this recently?

5th person told me that though his supervisor wonít allow the change he advises I call the hotel directly to cancel and rebook. So I did and it worked pretty easily. I simply told them that Iíll rebook the same nights before you go ahead and cancel to ensure that I am not simply looking to cancel to waive the fee.

Use the link I posted above. That should work now if you still hold the status.

Officially should be gold.
Gold is what I got. But I was under the impression that gold earned on the Marriot program will turn into platinum. Couldnít find anything that said if it was earned by the credit it would be treated differently.

It had to be earned by stays to get platinum. If you got gold from a match you are supposed to stay at gold

For those that will be doing it this way note that the points will not be deposited back into account for possibly 7-10 days.

Marriott wasnít clear on this (Re status earned by RC card). They were clear that spg gold earned by cc would translate to Marriott gold.

If it says platinum, how easily can you get united silver?

Use this link and see if it works. It can take 7-10 BD but usually takes around 4.

Link was broken earlier today, linked to a broken sign in page. Then it was updated to down until August 23. Now it says August 24.

+1 --> I'm 4 days in the wait.  Each time I call, I'm told to keep waiting.  I haven't been told the 7-10 days yet -- just that they're working on the issue.

i got plat, because i had 10k spend on my RC card, maybe thats different than just having the card open the first year?
marriott said clearly that if you had gold from their side (and no this isnt a "match") then it would convert into plat

There was availability though?  My issue is the SR is no longer bookable, so they cant do that...
