Thanks, as long as it will happen i dont mind. But aside from Dan i haven't seen anything that says they will refund the difference
I quoted it from a post from Starwood Lurker.
before the merger SPG plat = Marriott plat which equaled United silver. Now SPG plat = Marriott platinum elite which does not get United silver. When the link first came out though before it broke they were giving out UA silver for platinum elite.
what room type did you book?
OWB, funny thing is after spending the 810k for the 3 nights i only had 200k (Marriott) left which was 70k short. However post merger i was able to snag the next day at 80k (the original 3 nights werent available to redo)
Aha. So why didn't you link this all before the merger?
I did for mine since I was plat before the merger. Some people (like my wife) became plat after the merger (just for having the Ritz card) but were only platinum elite and not able to get UA silver unless they did it in the short original window where the link was open
well it looks like it will reprice at 170k a night if you got the garden villa that would reprice at 60K
170k a night is way over priced.
And it used to be even more overpriced lol. Its 680k for a 5 night stay. You can trade 380k for hilton and get a 5 night stay there or just use csr points and book a owv with a pool for between 60 and 80k a night. Just my opinion...
400K UR is more expensive than 680K marriott by a lot so I dont know what you are talking about. The Conrad is a great deal. But you cannot compare a Conrad to a St. Regis for the most part. Again Im not saying its a bargain but its much better than it was before.
Does any one know how United and Marriot "talk" regarding status match [Marriot PP > United Silver]. Is it yearly, once you have it its lifetime or it's a all the time system match?
If conrad water villas are half that at $750 then it's 250k ur for a 5 night stay. The str is nicer but conrad is not a motel 6 and for half the price...
Does anyone know what the new Marriott policy (or the old one for that matter) will be for transferring points to other people? SPG used to be anyone who had the same home address for 30 days.
