Referencing back to Dan's 4/19 DDMS post with predictions (gotta be one of the Top 10 posts of all times, IMHO), some of the predictions have unfortunately not come true.

For example:
Dan said:
"•Category 4 SPG hotels include the Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa At Keauhou Bay, HI, the Four Points Miami Beach, the Sheraton Brooklyn, the Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, and the W Beijing...." should be bookable with an "old" Cat1-5 cert. However, all of the above, save for Beijing, have jumped to unified Cat5. With the old Cat1-5 certs becoming usable only for unified Cat1-4, these hotels will be unavailable.

I haven't done the other comparisons yet....

ETA: I guess it still remains possible that Marriott will allow old Cat1-5 to be used for unified Cat1-5 hotels, but that seems unlikely.

@Dan when you put together your post on all of these changes can you please feature this hotel as a possibility of benefiting by booking now? Maybe I'll get a minyan for yeshiva week ;)

@Dan I have to be a bit skeptical about the all suite hotel pricing. Here is the reason why:

For example. Mystique is an all suite luxury collection hotel. Current pricing is 70K SPG Points. However, according to the new Marriott chart, the "current" pricing is only 90K Marriott Points - which we know is not true. It says the price will drop to 85K in 2019, however being the they are off about the current pricing leads me to believe marriott has something else up there sleeve. The same thing applies for Bora Bora and Maldives alike hotels.

Let me know your thoughts

I also have a very hard time believing that hotels like the St. Regis MLE will actually be bookable at that price. At the very least they'll probably make the entire calendar peak pricing.

+1. I was surprised at the overly positive post.

Even peak would be too generous.

Current pricing isnt actually bookable, so why would I believe that the future one will be?

I've been busy and out of the loop here.  Just want to make sure I am following. If I booked the Gritti Palace for August- then come August I can call up to get a refund?
