I don't know if this has been posted before but i found this link very useful to check up specific hotels how much they are now and how much they'll be come august.

SPG lets your transfer unlimited point between accounts with same address.
Marriott caps at 50k points unless you have a reservation that it's being applied to directly. But after a certain amount of points, you need a supervisor.

Anyone know what the rule will be once there is a merger?  Need to transfer 4 mil SPG points or 12 mil Marriott points.

Why not just initiate the transfer now?

I have not seen this discussed in previous posts -
Right now a major difference between the Starwood and Marriot booking sites is that with Marriot I can book with points even if I don't have them all available yet in my account. With Starwood I can't, at least not on the website. Does anyone know what will happen Aug 1? I am waiting for a bunch of points, but if they won't be available by then I don't want to miss out on availability.
Thanks

you can do it now with SPG with calling (might be a platinum benefit) Are you sure that you can book Marriotts online without the points?

I have multiple SPG accounts
(2 different addresses, same person/name)
Can I merge multiple SPG into a single Marriott one?
merge now on SPG (wil they hassle me about the addresses?)

transfer to 2 separate Marriott accounts then merge those?

Does anyone here know the exact date and time that the new award chart will go into effect? All I've seen is "August".

Source?
i don't know why I had 8/1 in my head. After re-reading it does say August. One thing I do know is that in order to get to SPG platinum before the merger with 50 nights and get 10 suite night awards you need to hit 50 by 7/27 so I would expect everything to be merged by early August

It's been confirmed multiple times by reps on Twitter. Every blogger posted this as well.
