I currently have 67K SPG. I don't book hotels.
What would be my best resell value?
A package of 200k Marriott would only get me 55k UA, is that worth it?
What could I do to maximize my value?

Does anyone know of a current Tier 1-3 which is becoming a Cat 8?

Dan gave the Ritz Toronto as an example but that's becoming a Cat 7....

I gave the best possible examples.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Its all speculation at this point but @Dan speculated in his article that 1-3 would convert to a Category 7 and a Tier 4-5 would convert to a Cat 8

Correct, but he also said to tie the cert to a hotel which is going up so hopefully can switch around.

How can I use the Cert to book online? I find 7 nights but no option to select cert. Must I call?

Sorry if this has been discussed but does anyone have more information on the anniversary nights on the SPG card? My anniversary is in October so I should be eligible to get one but I havent been able to find when and where I can expect to see that night. Is it on my SPG account? How do I redeem it?

spg doesn't do a specific anniv night the same way that hyatt does. They just offer free nights with (less) SPG points, and they credit add'l stays each year towards gold status, etc...

Why is there specific coupon codes for use with Marriott when there is no box to enter it by checkout?

ETA: Nevermind. You enter it while searching.

Just got an email from SPG about my request to use my certificate...It seems like the certificates will be converted to point values, rather than being able to retain the 7 nights in their categories...

And so it begins...

If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

My wife hit the 5k spend threshold for Marriott 100k point offer within the past few days but her most recent statement closed on the 4th of August before hitting the bonus amount. I want to be able to transfer the full amount into my SPG before the merger because I am Gold and would be limited to 50k after the merger. Is it possible to call chase and have my next statement close today (9 days after my previous statement) and then have the points post and transfer before the merger?

I upgraded my 5 night cert to cat 6 to book 5 nights at residence inn surfside last week of sept. I just noticed that this hotel will become cheaper ( category 4)  on aug 18th and now im wondering if I should cancel the reservation and downgrade the cert back to a cat 5 and rebook next week. should I do that?

I called Marriott today to book a miles+points package.  I was told by the customer service rep that I could book a current category 6 package and it would be eligible for the future category 6 hotel.  She issued the certificate and made the reservation at the hotel and told me I should call back after 8/18 and the certificate would be attached to the reservation.

Is she completely wrong?  Or is this how Marriott will be honoring awards (seems too generous)

How can I ensure Marriott honors this?

I was promised alot of things by marriott for Post 8/18. The best thing you can do is ask for a case # for everything the agent said

I reached out to Marriott support and THEY CONFIRMED

"
I reviewed your reservation and do see that on August 18, 2018 this hotel will change to a Category 6 hotel and the package eCertificate and you ordered will automatically attach to the reservation.

Should this not occur in a timely manner, please call Marriott Customer Care or Marriott Rewards to attach the package eCertificate after this date has passed, but prior to your arrival."
