Do the new Platinum level benefits apply to all the SPG brand hotels (like Sheraton, SR, Le Meridien, Westin) now? how about Ritz hotels?

Mainly asking about upgrades, breakfast / lounge, late checkout.

they were applied from when the merger took place last year. All benefits apply the only change is that to get a suite at the ritz you need platinum premier or higher also no one gets breakfast at ritz

Thanks for the prompt response.
Seems really odd that Ritz gets such preferential treatment, but St Regis has to provide breakfast / lounge benefits.

Has anyone who cancelled an award booking actually seen their points credited/deposited back into their account.  It seems this issue has been a problem since day 1 --- unfortunately, I've been waiting for 12 days without my points being returned to my account.  They started saying it would take 7-10 days, yesterday they told me 5-10 business days -- today they said they don't have any idea when the issue will be resolved.

Wow, that really sucks, sorry to hear that...hope they refund it soon.  I have to say, I'm not normally a complainer, I did hope I would be able to use my Ritz Cat 1-3 week cert at some better hotels but I wasn't actually angry about that piece as I can still get great value out of it.  This kind of thing you are describing actually really bothers me though.  They didn't train their phone reps AT ALL...when I called for help linking my two accounts (online kept giving me an error) so I could use my total balance under the new number, once I finally figured it out and linked them with the new Rewards number she gave me (that they NEVER emailed me or notified me of in ANY WAY), the rep literally asked me what I did (I used the new Marriott Rewards number but my old SPG password not my marriott password because I guess they consider me a legacy SPG client) because she wanted to write it down because she said I was the FIRST person that had called in that was actually successful to link the accounts and see all the points together!!!!  Is that normal CSR training??  :o

I know these are huge companies and the IT issues are difficult but I am really disappointed in this integration and their total lack of INTERNAL communication with their reps as well as the actual roll-out of services to actual clients.  I'm happy to have just used up my points on a great one-time redemption (at st. regis current Cat 7 going up in January for basically 80k SPG for 5 nights) but then I think I'm basically totally done with SPG and back to solely focusing on Hilton.  I actually spend a lot of hotel dollars for work and Hilton by far provides the best earning and redemptions for me personally but I'm curious what you guys that only get points from churning, MS and normal spend are planning to do for hotels.  What company are you moving toward for accruals?  Or just book Hyatts with UR transfers or use UR points at their 1.5% value?  If any of you have any good post merger hotel points strategies I'd love to hear them.

I assume the answer is no, but is there even a 1% chance SPG will give any points back to someone ( ::)) who booked a stay for the first week of August at a hotel that has since been devalued?

I can’t seem to find where this has been discussed, but doesn’t upgrading my Marriott card set me back another 24 months?

Just spoke to someone now. They said that my cancellation created certificates, in my case 90k certificates as it was for the SRBH, that are just floating around in my account and she was able to see them but because they have "system issues" they cant be cancelled and redeposited just yet.

I thought that only 15 night credits would be posted regardless of how many cards you have? Is this different for 2018? I had 10 night credits from SPG (2 amex cards) which posted together with the additional 15 from Marriott for a total of 25 nights from CCs. Is this an error?

So you don’t think it’s a mistake?
They transferred to Marriott as 10 “paid nights”

Just got bumped up from Plat to Plat Premier.
Still no idea what I'm supposed to be, but I'll take it.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.
