Did anyone find out why they took away nights? Did they give them back?

Are SPG cancellations still not getting points back right away?

Bump. Anyone know what happens if you cancel certificate applied to SPG property?

You can't? Looks like they exchanged it for points on my end, but I'm calling to find out.

No, they exchanged it for points (full value, not discounted) and booked with points @ SPG hotel

So next step is...get them to do this, cancel and retain the points?

Over an hour and 20 minutes on the phone trying to use my unused 1-5 certificate. They are allowing me to book a Cat 5 SPG legacy hotel but having loads of trouble doing it. had to extend because the date was after expiration. Now it became a partial travel package. I dont even know what that means.

Successfully booked 7 night Cat 5. Somehow I ended up with 40k more points in my account and a Cat 5 certificate.

I want to use 3 nights in a category 4 hotel in Palm Springs. The cost of the hotel is about the value of my category 1-4 certificate. would they give me any issued if I checkout after 3 or 4 nights? Or I should just not check out?

Any reason to still have both the spg and marriot apps? I'm short on space and if I dont need both then which should I keep?
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

So are the old certificates from Marriott valid only until 25k points redemptions or until current category 5?

Premier Visa Anniv. 1 Free Nt up to 25,000 Points is the name of my current certificate.
