My anniversary was April 2nd and I still haven’t received it but I went back and found the email and they write in the email that it will be there in 8-12 weeks! Uggh I wanted to use it in early June and it looks like that isn’t going to happen...
Meh, don't give up just yet. Don't count on it either, but there's hope.
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

How to stay regular room but access Sheraton Lounge?
« Reply #941 on: May 14, 2019, 02:02:03 PM »
I'm staying 6 nights at Sheraton in Arlington, TX in June.  $169 rate for room, $199 for Sheraton Lounge Level.
Is there a way to gain Sheraton Lounge access w/my standard rate?
Any/all tips & tricks are much appreciated.  I'm solo.
Post or direct message.  Thx!

If you get upgraded and that is usually likely if there are available rooms and you have elite status.

Hi all,

I’m having an issue with a cat 1-5 certificate I made a reservation ( before we knew anything) at the Calgary hotel in Canada as per Dans advice since it was a cat 5 hotel. I just cancelled it and marriot put it back as a cat 1-5 again instead of the new categories. Anyone have this issue and can advise me how to fix this?

The Points Guy: Marriott Makes No-Notice Change to Points Advance.
https://thepointsguy.com/news/marriott-changes-points-advance/
Just curious, why is the OP trying to use the points advance option if he has the required points in his account? What's the gain in booking via this method?

Does anyone know if the expiration date of a category 1-4 7 night cert can still be extended?
Does the stay have to take place by the expiration date,or just the booking?

they can be extended once for a year. This is done when you call them to convert it to a new certificate (meaning new categories) and yes you can book for after expiration

has anyone had an issue lately having an additional guest check-in on a plat account? I called to make a reservation, and was told that the recent changes require that if the non-platinum guest wants to check-in, then the reservation needs to be put in their name, without having the platinum a/c number on the reservation. & when the Plat member comes to the hotel, then he can have his number added.
Is this accurate?

note, this was for a cash stay.

Not in my case, I did it last week without a problem, booked for my brother, but it was a points stay, not sure if it makes a difference.

I never had an issue.

Marriott's policy is to officially allow gifting of some award stays.

In most cases just call the hotel directly to add a guest to the reservation.

Thx!  I got the Dans Deal 100K Bonvoy card...maybe that'll help.  I thought there's an easier way.
The lounge access for 6 days would be awesome!

Yes very possible.
The term expired is used when something ceases to be valid.

In the past you would be able to call before expiration to have them extended for a year. After the merger I have not seen reports of success doing this.

Your best bet would be calling and telling them you had a hard time using it because of the merger.

I have had luck in extending a certificate before it was expired for an additional year
