"You must select your Choice Benefit(s) by January 15 following the year in which you qualified; if you don’t, Marriott will automatically select five Suite Night Awards for you."

40K has most value.

U can score confirmed SNA if that's valuable to you.

Not sure if this is the right thread to pose this question:

I am booking a hotel for 6 nights (Rome, Italy) and using 320k Marriott points (Cat 7).  Unfortunately, I only have Gold status which means my chances of upgrade are slim/none.  Is there any way to pay somebody who is titantium or platinum to get an upgrade?

For the 7 Night Marriott Certificates, Do you have to use the Cert by the expiration date or just apply it to a reservation by then?

If I'm a no show on an award stay, the points go back automatically into my account?
Do they wait until they charge the room rate before depositing or is it automatic?

Is there a good reason to keep both the Marriot and SPG cards?

You can always call the hotel/ask at check-in/email the general manager and ask nicely.

ask at checkin

I called and spoke with the manager who said they cannot do it. You think it might change their mind at check in?

in my limited experience, yes. When I called they said they won't know until we check in if there are bigger suites available. At check in they said yes and offered a choice of two rooms on different floors

Wasn't sure if to post here, or to make a new thread:
supposedly all the merger-era 7 night packages were going to be converted (automatically) back to points 3/1.
has anyone had that happen? either automatically, or by calling?

looks like they're doing the worst of both “Partial Package – 7 nights up to 210,000PTS”

discuss

update:
today the cert was 'canceled' and the 210K pts were indeed deposited into the account!
