Are you aware of anyone that actually received a check from them???  Trying to find one for years,
your response not appreciated, you can do better............

Do some research before criticizing, Do you know anyone that was supposed to receive help and didn't? its very easy to say i don't know anyone helped by organization xyz, there are even people that don't know what מרטנה  is
am i the only one that doesnt know what this is?

Hopefully, this will succeed. We can use new thinking.

Arevim is a great example of original thinking that is a major success. Why am I thinking about them now? Because they didn't charge in ages and I got a notice last week that they will charge and I happen to know the family of orphans.
Read the post you're quoting.

CORRECTION: Liberty told me now that everything gets paid at the end, lately they just can't cover themselves in the same month, but then they pay it in the next months.
They're now raising their share amount by $50 a month.

That may be because the CEO of Liberty Healthshare left to head United Refuah a few months ago. I finally took the bullet and signed up with United Refuah last night. They extended their charter member sign up promotion until May 31st, so no coshares for the first year. Only the $500 deductible. $219 a month. Way better deal than $185 a month for a catastrophic plan with a $7,350 deductible that doctors don't take anyways.

How is the plan working out for you?

I'm just concerned that some time there's going to be some family screwed when the fund doesn't have the money to cover a big claim.

Yes that's the big question.
If you don't care why would you comment?

Yes that's the big question.

There's also a minefield to deal with regarding pregnancy and pre-existing conditions.

Even if you have this, I would think one still needs a catastrophic or a high-deductible plan, and it's hard to imagine the out-of-pocket costs of the 2 plans combined being lower than an ACA silver or bronze plan.

Why would it be different then Liberty Health Share? Their structure is a bit different but basically the same.

I'm sure it's similar, but with a massive sign up push, they might be bringing on too many people relative to the amount they have saved for very expensive procedures.

Also, a lot of my concerns would be with any health share. I'm not sure they are the best coverage for people who are uncomfortable relying on them to pay a big claim. They don't seem to share the same level of legal liability as an insurance company to pay claims.

Simply put, healthshare is NOT insurance. Anyone posting here with concerns about it not covering or not paying, should probably not participate (except if augmented with a catastrophic plan - I believe I posted in the Obamacare thread what I believe might be a workaround to gain eligibility for those over 30) as the entire point of insurance is to CAP the risk and give peace of mind based on the maximum out of pocket figure.

That is not to say that healthshares are bad. They might be excellent in controlling and pooling costs, but as far as I understand there is no cap on the outlier risk.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

I just question the potential cost savings of having this plus some form of insurance vs just getting traditional insurance.

Their structure should have been created that it will work with any amount of ppl. And they don't accept preexisting conditions. Which means that it's a way easier to predict a profit then an a regular insurance.

The above being the case, the chances of any healthshare going under is pretty low. And as of now there hasn't been a single case that onle folded.

It's definitely going to be cheaper

Where does one find "catastrophic" insurance? The broker I spoke to said it doesn't exist.
