Will I reach AA status?
« on: April 25, 2018, 09:47:24 AM »
I have some travel planned for this year that I’m going to credit to AA (unless there’s a better program to credit to that will get me OneWorld status?) and I’m trying to figure out if either my planned travel will get me to Gold (I just want free checked bags without having an AA CC), or if I should look into a challenge.

I’m based in PHL so AA is usually going where I want to go. I had a Platinum promo/challenge a couple years ago but I’ve never applied for a challenge otherwise.

My AA YTD:
EQDs: 774
EQMs: 6460
EQSs: 4

My planned travel (everything is non-award, and all within about three months):

BA PHL-LHR in I
BA NCE-LHR in J
BA LHR-PHL in I
AA PHL-FLL in G RT S

I suspect I might get there based on just the miles flown plus dollars spent, but I couldn’t find any conclusive information about what I’ll be earning for the BA travel in business.

Alright, so how do I figure out what the mileage for those segments is? GCM?

PHL-LHR I 3545 * 1.5 = 5317 EQM
NCE-LHR J 647 * 1.5 = 970 EQM
LHR-PHL I 3545 * 1.5 = 5317 EQM
PHL-FLL G 992 * 1.0 = 992 EQM
FLL-PHL S 992 * 1.0 = 992 EQM

So I’ll earn 13588 EQM, leaving me with 20048 EQMs, so a day late and a dollar short.

Check my math? :D

It seems like I either need to fly more on AA this year (a possibility), or try for a challenge. Please correct me if I’m wrong.
