Topic Wiki

The Do's
Great value grill: Someone please add :)

The Dont's
Don't play with the food on the grill. Flip it once (or twice if need be), that's all.

Be careful. Once your grill gets used you can have one heck of a grease fire and destroy your grill.
I singed my face as a 10 year old (but that was leaving fires on while closing tank valve instead of closing valve then lighting new fire to burn out excess)

Skewers with cubed chicken or steak, red onion, zucchini, yellow squash, mushrooms, peppers. Marinate in soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic. Or skip the marinade and just brush with olive oil and spices. You can also skip the meat totally and just serve plain, makes for a delicious, colorful addition to any bbq. (Not breaking any new ground here really)

is it something that you would eat together with savory dishes like steak and fries etc?  it sounds like it would be too sweet to eat together

if you do skewers, get some with a little width to them, not round. you can also use 2 round ones together. much easier to handle and rotate

I heard a new trick.  Cast iron on the grill. Fat stays there and its juicy

Grilled sliced salami is fantastic even if you don't otherwise like salami. Grilled navel pastrami also excellent

In that case why not just do it on the stovetop?

If you have a sous vide and they are relatively big burgers that's a great option.

I believe that's been debunked more times than CNNs credibility.

Also, not directly related to grilling, but my new favorite way to make a burger is to smash it ala smash burger.
