The Do's
Great value grill: Someone please add :)

The Dont's
Don't play with the food on the grill. Flip it once (or twice if need be), that's all.

Be careful. Once your grill gets used you can have one heck of a grease fire and destroy your grill.
I singed my face as a 10 year old (but that was leaving fires on while closing tank valve instead of closing valve then lighting new fire to burn out excess)

All About Grilling
« on: April 26, 2018, 12:30:53 PM »
As the grilling season is almost upon us I'm looking for new things to grill and try.
(this is not another recipes thread)

i find many times we just grill the same thing over and over and it loses the excitement

Have you tried serving something that really got wows?

food i make that people love:
- i grill corn and smear it with a spicy mayo recipe. it's a different twist on old fashioned corn but people love it.
- grilled skirt steak with a chimichuri put on when the steak is resting

please add anything that is worth trying and that is not your typical hot dog.

This is a simple thing, but cut an onion in half and grill it flat side down. Delicious!
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

How do you grill the corn?
First i semi cook it up in water and a bit sugar. (Takes too long to fully cook on grill) And then create small char lines in the grill.

Spicy mayo i do mayo, sriracha, a drop of sesame oil, and a drop garlic powder and sugar

How do you grill the corn?

I remove the silk from the ears but leave husk on. I soak the corn in water for about 15 minutes. I dry the corn and rub basil margarine on the ears.  Then put on grill and turn periodically.  The husk protects the corn from burning. but if  you just want it charred I would precook first.

Grilled peaches and grilled pineapple are amazing
is it something that you would eat together with savory dishes like steak and fries etc?  it sounds like it would be too sweet to eat together

I happen to prefer the peaches over the pineapple, and I eat them plain.
