The Do's
Great value grill: Someone please add :)

The Dont's
Don't play with the food on the grill. Flip it once (or twice if need be), that's all.

Be careful. Once your grill gets used you can have one heck of a grease fire and destroy your grill.
I singed my face as a 10 year old (but that was leaving fires on while closing tank valve instead of closing valve then lighting new fire to burn out excess)

Apple sauce?
Vinegar/oil and a spice or two.
Wow never heard of that? Are those a butcher special?
Jewel/Osco special along with 10 off a 500 GC.  :)
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Any recommendations for reducing smoke when using a cast iron grill pan indoors? I know that I need to get it super hot to get a good enough sear, but at a certain point, it's not worth it due to the smoke.
Just had a thought. Would it work to heat the grill pan to 500(+) degrees, then put it in the oven and sear the steak inside an already hot oven? Would that work to mostly contain the smoke?

Thanks. Failed because it wasn't a good sear or failed because it didn't contain the smoke?

Agreed, its not bad. You broil in hot cast iron? Or once you are broiling, you lose most of the advantage of cast iron?

Lol I always disable the fire alarm when I grill indoors, but the sheer amount of smoke drives my wife crazy.

I'd be okay with enough smoke that might make an alarm go off as long as the smoke isnt overbearing.

Regarding the smoke issue, has anyone tried something like this?

What retailers would have the best sales at  the end of grilling season (online or NYC area)?

Barring that, what's the best value gas grill (3 zone or larger), a good grill that won't break the bank?

retail stores clearing out inventory but YMMV between Walmart, Target, Lowes, HD, etc.

Have been using grillgrates for years. 100% worth the cost.
Best part is you can flip and use the other side as a flat grill.

How many would you recommend starting with?

I replaced all my grates. You can use one side as traditional grates and the other as flat.
