The Do's
Great value grill: Someone please add :)

The Dont's
Don't play with the food on the grill. Flip it once (or twice if need be), that's all.

Be careful. Once your grill gets used you can have one heck of a grease fire and destroy your grill.
I singed my face as a 10 year old (but that was leaving fires on while closing tank valve instead of closing valve then lighting new fire to burn out excess)

yes and yes
if you need to replace your grates anyway might as well upgrade. I wouldn't necessarily buy them for a new grill just because though
I second this. Have them and really like them.

I would love to get a bbq now that they are on sale but i'm clueless as to which brands are good and what to look out for. All I know is that I want a 4 burner gas grill. What are the advantages if a weber grill that it's so much more expensive than other brands. What other brands are good?

BBQing is like whisky. if your asking a question like this then the cheapest one is good enough for you.

No. I still don't want a piece of junk that won't last. What are some other quality brands?

I have had different brands over the years. My last one was a Char-Broil. Weber's are just built better.

Or as Adam savage says:
If it’s your first one, buy the cheapest one that will get the job done and use it until it breaks. When it falls apart, buy a replacement that will last a lifetime.

I agree the cheap grills don't maintain heat terrible flare ups... the only reason i would say to start with a cheap one is so when you do buy a quality grill ull actually understand how much better they are. also most expensive grill brands have great CS for new parts etc...

Might be a bit off topic but the 1st cooker i ever cooked on was Weber charcoal grill, next a cheap home depot offset which was garbage, tried electric box cookers for a while and then entered the big leagues with Yoder's, Lang, Klose, and i would prob never appreciate the expensive cookers if not for all the crap ones.

That is the way I found out but now wish I went straight with a Weber.

My Broil King is still going strong, approaching the lifetime of my parents last Weber. They're much closer to Weber pricing than Charbroil though.

Not sure how you define junk but I have this
Small people talk about other people.
Average people talk about things
BIG PEOPLE TALK ABOUT IDEAS.

How much space do you think you need? Do you need it so be with a stand/wheels? Etc.

One of my siblings had a Coleman with foldable legs/wheels from Prime day one year that was pretty good, and did us well on family vacations, but didn't hold up well long term. We borrowed something like this (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Zimtown-Portable-2-Burner-20-000BTU-Stainless-Steel-Propane-Grill-with-Foldable-Leg/491699727?from=browseResults) and it was a game changer. Tons of space, maintained the heat really well, etc. Many companies make something like this though - not sure how to sort out which are actually well built.
