If you're pending you're going to be cancelled and get a refund.

I wrote a rough script (for my own use) which polls the GE website to find availability and sends you an alert when a sooner appointment is available.

Is there any interest in a service for this (for a small fee)? If there is I can spin something up...

I think this will be revered within the next week. Courts have repeatedly sided with states over the government changing a program specifically aimed at one state (or 7 countries in the initial travel ban).

The burden of proof is on the administration to show that the NY law and only the NY law inhibits their ability to conduct checks, but doesn't inhibit them from other background checks.

The one state clearly is different here. I don't think courts will intervene.

A few case scenarios:

- Court sides with NY, DHS will simply schlep NY apps for months without updating it (like till this week when they still had the shutdown banner)
- Trump loses the election
- Trump wins but the DNC wins both houses and impeaches & removes Trump
- Trump & GOP win 2020 but Cuomo loses 2022

The big losers are the NY residents that were in middle of the application (or even approved but didn't do the interview yet)

Either way when I have to re-apply in 2023 this matter will be settled (if Moshiach is not here by then)

Just renewed my GE. Approved after two days with no interview. Former NYS resident; moved to NJ in August. Applied for renewal day NYS ban was announced.

Will they send me a new card when the old one expires? (still have about a year left on this one)

No, they'll send new card asap but expiration will still be 5 years after the old one does.

I just got one and planning to use it instead of getting a real ID.

After landing I did the interview for my 3 kids and I only got the email that 2 were approved
Do I need to make an appointment for the 3rd again!!! Or hope it will be approved even if it’s been over a week, we did the hand prints and everything!!
Is there anyone to call and ask about it?
