T-Mobile and Sprint are officially merging.. if regulators won’t stop them (they probably won’t) the new company will be called T-Mobile... RIP Sprint

Lots of money/favors still has to be shuffled around between lobbyists and regulators before it gets approved and that becomes an issue.. until then you can enjoy all the sprint dead spots on your current plan at your current rate.

Yes, for example, each canceling out the others dead spots?

Lol, only reason we still have Sprint is because we're grandfathered in to a plan with unlimited data and 2 year upgrades, dead spots included .

The deal has no breakup fee but instead if the deal does fall through there is a roaming agreement that will allow sprint customers to use T-Mobiles network in sprint dead spots..

Looks like it’s a win win for Sprint customers and dead spots are officially a thing of the past!

Other then pricing which will probably take on T-Mobiles pricing, together they will have the most airwaves, therefore it's definitely good.

Additionally Sprint with their 30B debt can't float too much longer which is why the deal actually happened. Therefore Spring customers weren't in a better position beforehand.

The only hardship here is the Feds which hate a 4 way industry become 3. But it'll happen anyhow

Their PR strategy is to claim that they must be allowed to be merged so that there’s a 3rd company that can effectively compete with Verizon and AT&T in the 5G space.

They effectively take the feds potential anti trust issue and turn it from a negative to a positive..

Correct. While I see it as a done deal the unknown ( aka Trump ) can derail their plans by deciding to go against it

Unlike Time Warner where Trump has an agenda (CNN), Masayoshi Son and Trump are BFFs, no issue there..

https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2018/04/27/t-mobile-sprint-merger-near-value-at-26-billion.html

“There is no breakup fee associated with the deal, they said. However, there is a roaming agreement that will kick into effect between the companies if a deal is rejected. Sprint customers would be allowed to use T-Mobile's network if they're out of range, two of the people said.”

That really is great news, I just wonder what they'll do with grandfathered plans if the deal goes through.
