Has anyone been in Prague for Shabbos? Is the Intercontinental Shabbos-friendly, or full of digital locks and motion sensors?

Is the Sheraton nice enough to be worth going to for Thursday night, and then staying at the IC for Friday/Saturday night? Or should one just stay at the IC the entire time?

Also, what's the parking like in Prague? Especially over Shabbos - anywhere to park without getting towed?

I've been there for Shabbos a couple of times. It's very Shabbos friendly, IIRC the only problem was the automatic door to enter the hotel.

The Sheraton isn't that nice IMO, and the Intercontinental is the perfect location. I'd recommend staying ther ethe whole time.

I never took a car there, so I don't know about parking. I'm sure the hotel has a lot/valet

How bad is the Sheraton? It's a bit cheaper than the IC, plus it's another SPG stay credit. ;)

It wasn't bad. The IC is just so perfect for Jews visiting Prague. Location wise, all 3 kosher places are within 3 minutes walking. The Shuls, cemeteries etc. are right there. The Sheraton is about 15 min away.

Prague is pretty crazy when it comes to parking. The cops are out there looking for cars to put a boot on. Double check before u park anywhere.

Has anyone here traveled from Prague to Vienna or vice versa?

Does anyone know the best way to get from PRG to VIE via train (which rail co., fares, length of trip, etc.)?

I'm planning a trip to Prague for 4-5 days and was hoping to stay in Vienna for a day or two during the trip.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

TIA

Does anyone have any recommendations for a budget friendly hotel that is good for Shabbos? (lower rate than the Intercontinental)

I was advised that the Chabad Shelanu restaurant has the best Hashgacha. When I booked it they replied that the meals are actually in the Chabad house rather than the restaurant. I'm sure it will be an experience. Price was good, though.

Dinitz posts that they are under the Chug Chasam Sofer from Bnei Brak as well as a local Prague Hashgacha, but I had already paid for Chabad when I realized that.

I'll post when I return.

oops! so sorry. I did mix the two up.

A local friend advised me. He lives in NY but travels to that area about 7 times / year.
