It's a combination of virtue signaling and ignorance, which can thrive when there are enough other options. Very few people don't eat Rabbanut Mehadrin dairy based on real knowledge, and they wouldn't eat OU either

What I have noticed though is that a lot of times the Jerusalem Rabbanut Mehadrin locations tend to be in more relatively chioni areas and the restaurant staff may be entirely chiloni?
In addition the modesty of the restaurant staff(waittresses) may be totally inappropriate (IMHO way more inappropriate than US restaurants).  The modesty of restaurants with the "top" hashgachas (badatz, rubin, landeau) would never allow such an environment.

May that be the underlying apprehension for some and not any real kashrus concerns?

so what about these lists then that put Jerusalem Rabbanut mehadrin as a very sub-par hashgacha, I's assuming who ever complied these lists put in time and research?

also I have heard others say that Jer rabbanut mehadrin cannot be relied on for trumos and massros etc...

I wish once and for all we had a reliable list based on the real facts and details as to the standards of each Hasgacha  etc....

If you're already asking about hashgacha of the produce, then you are in a different league than rabbanut mehadrin.

Rabbanut Mehardrin used to be under Rav Efrati and it was eaten by almost everyone but then they decided that his Chumras were too strict for them so their standards dropped considerably.

Stick to the better Mehadrins such as eida, rubin, sheiris, landau and others...

@Dan do you really mean to say that when Rabbi Kuber or Rabbi Weiner or Rav Zaretzki states that you cant eat rabbanut yerusholayim mehadrin due to kashrus concerns thats due to lack of knowledge and/or politics???

I've done personal research and spoken with people who have inspected operations and can tell you this is absolutely not the case.

5 years ago i was i Netanya and there was a Pizza store right out of the Sanz neighborhood that was a good Hechsher (forgot what it was, it may have been the local Sanz one).

I know this question was JUST asked, so I'm going to be very specific. I am meeting a relative in the airport on Thursday and escorting him to Tel Aviv, where he wants to eat. Even he knows that might be tough for me, so he asked me to look into a place I would eat with him "near" Tel Aviv (dunno where he is staying there). I don't know what near means, so: where is the closest place to Tel Aviv we can stop for supper?
I would eat anywhere Rabbi Kuber recommends. Barring that, we got Badatz, Rubin, Sheeris, Landau, Kehilos if it has ZNT.

isn't bnei brak on the way to tel aviv? I think there's one or two good places there.
