Natan's Coffee Cup makes phenomenal American style giant cups of reasonable priced iced coffee, iced mocha, and excellent chocolate chip cookies.

No teuda on the wall, but he'll pull out his Rubin Teuda if you ask. Got pretty snippy at me for asking until I said I was merely visiting. Also sharply demanded I put my phone in my pocket when he pulled out the teuda. Odd experience overall, but great iced coffee.

Hatch (Reb Mehadrin Jlem) in the Shuk has an excellent beer, flight Passion Fruit Frose, and truly incredible messy fries.

Also ordered a shnitzel sandwich and a brisket sandwich based on the waitress pushing for them, but after 20+ minutes were informed both were out of stock...not great when you only have a couple entrees on the menu.

Also, the bathroom is really gross, which always makes me nervous. But I guess that's the price for eating in the shuk?

Time for someone to care. Or for the Rabanut to figure out how to allow restaurants to operate as they do in US tourist spots like Miami. The situation is just unacceptable.

Plaza across the street is also underwhelming but at least it's much cheaper.

I tried Mamilla Hotel about a month ago - was mediocre

Inbal and Citadel are the best IMO

I thought everyone has Rabanut as standard, and then the better hechsher as add-on.

I believe that the law is that you can't call something Kosher in Israel unless the Rabbaut certifies it. Even if there is a Badatz, Landau, Rubin, Sheiris, etc. etc. they still are not "legally" Kosher.

Could be that he just has a Rubin and not Rabbanut and doesn't want to get sued...

I called Rabbi Rubins's Hechsher line and they told me that they are under the Hechsher's certification

How much does he stand to loose by juts adding Rabbanut?
It seems like he has a lot more to loose if he gets caught the way he is now?
