(Rabanut is not comparable to Chalav Stam. The question one should be asking is if they are fine with standards that are lower then Triangle-K?)

Cholov Stam, lets say something is with an OUD, can be considered 100% Kosher if you eat that Kula (or don't hold of the Chumra, your choice).

But Rabbanut can be literally be Treif, Basar V'Chalav, Bugs, Bishul Akkum and who knows what, if the owner of the restaurant/or caterer doesn't really care to make sure everything is running in a Kosher way (and sometimes even if he does).

Last I checked, depends on who you ask.
The OU claims it's the same thing.
Knowledgeable Rabbanim on the ground, unaffiliated with the OU, say that it is not (at least at that point).
Things change, so worth looking into again.

The Halachic part might (or might not) be the same in the US and IL, but the way things work in IL is totally different.

In IL the restaurant/caterer/owner might not be scared or getting sued or losing his business as much as in the US.
People are unfortunately more likely to do Shtick than in the US.
And the government laws are not as kept in the IL as much as the US.

Many people who will eat OU in the US will not touch it in IL.

Interesting. I remember hearing an IKC lecture that stated the opposite. They claimed that the OU system is more robust than the Israeli ones. The claim is that some Israeli hechsherim have more chumras but almost no over site.Obviously the IKC will bee tilted more towards America though

Obviously true. But that's not relevant to the OU v. OU IL question.

(Side point: any statement modified with the word "some" is more likely to be true that one modified with "all"  )

Are the rest so mediocre that they didn't make it on that list or they just didn't cover everything since there are the large reputable ones available all over. I'm sure there are some that are anytime as good as many of the ones approved in the US.

They (or their shluchim) haven't done research on the other good ones.
