Place is terrible my salmon had skin on it in the sushi
ETA: the Chinese is good, but they are stingy
You remind me of an old joke. Two elderly women are at a Catskill mountain resort, and one of 'em says, "Boy, the food at this place is really terrible." The other one says, "Yeah, I know; and such small portions."

Either way this is not meant to be fast food. If you want large portions for cheap you will likely need to sacrifice elsewhere.

Arkady’s mechanic in Lakewood has a sign:
“We have 3 options.
Good, cheap service is not fast.
Fast, cheap service is not good.
And good, fast, service is not cheap.
You choose.”

I think. Not really sure. Whatever. I’m a little drunk.

The skin in the sushi was the main part, and it's not that they charge a lot for a normal portion,  the prices are ok but for 4 small pieces.

It's been a year since then.
Slow service, expensive menu, subpar food.
+1
Also the menu is quite boring
And they add a mandatory 18% service charge regardless of how bad your service actually was...

I think it was called artisan. It was a bit too saucy, but not in a taste way, more like making it hard to eat.

Another thing that really made it feel very cheap was the garlic bread they give. It's basically a hot dog bun with some oil and garlic smeared on, and seemed to be warmed up in a toaster under the front desk... Really nothing they should be serving in a store that charges 40 shekel for a bottle of water

Oh so true. That's what I was saying before about the paper on the tables. They don't get customer service and are so cheap. If they would be a little more generous I think they would have a better name for themselves.

+1 that was really bad. Basically way over rated.

@jmz I would faster recommend skline then redheifer. Food was better and better priced.

Hey,

I have a trip planned for Israel and haven't been there in quite a while and trying to wrap my head around the hechsherim thing...

1. Reading the forums, I see conflicting reports/messages about different restaurants if the hechsher is a good one or not. and some restaurants  i don't see any mention at all. In NY I know all hechsherim and I'm comfortable eating at a place like Le-marais (which has only an OU glatt). Can anybody enlighten me on the matter? is the rabanut a total joke? does it need to have another "charaidi" hechsher? is that for milk (I need Cholov Yisroel) or also for meat?

2. Would the same apply to the breakfast at the hotels (outside of Jlem)?

3. In particular, I'm trying the three places I'm trying to see if the hechsher is good is: Decks in Teveria, Herbert Samuel in hertzlia, Blue sky in Tel Aviv.

If anybody can help me out and enlighten me, i would greatly appreciate it.

Yes.

The 3 you mention in your point number 3, judging by the way you are asking the answer is no.

Thanks!

What would be the equivalent (kashrus wise) for those restaurants in NYC?

Would the same apply to the breakfasts at hotels?

Too lazy to search, but insert @Emkay post.

Something to the tune of: If your basing your Kashrus standards off anonymous people on an online blog, you can eat anywhere.
