many Don't eat that.

And in regards to lechem bassar, a lot of their meats are not a good shcitah for most askinazim, so be careful when you go there, know what you could get and what not.
Why not? I thought it’s considered good.....

as long as the ashkenazi relies on the sephardis hechsher, he can also rely on his mesora
follow this thread for a more in depth discussion. this has been dscussed before about this very restaurant.
Right but a lot of people don't know that. Was just discussing this with someone on Friday night and he eats there but not the filet and sirloin and I told him to clarify with his Rav this siman. Thanks for giving the exact address.

And what’s wrong with that?
SMH
I never said there was anything wrong. I happily eat it.

I know what you mean, however IIRC it was maybe 2-3 things on the menu

New Machpud New Deli opened yesterday in Jerusalem. Its the only New Deli that isn't regular Rabbanut. They make baguette sandwichs that are pretty solid. Tried the Philly Steak Sandwich and Marinated Chicken and both were good

There is no question about it. The idea is that since there are no (or almost no) Leviim Muchzakim they cannot sue for it and giving it to them isn't 100% the mitzvah... But there is no downside to giving it other than money.
A. Not living in EY, I'm not well versed in hilchos maasros. What I gather from this discussion is that although halachically consumers are yotze/food is kosher to eat because the Eida did hafrasha, the fact that they don't distribute the maaser is principally wrong? Or is it actually a violation of halacha?

The merchants sell it
B. Now, who gets the maaser? Are you saying they do hafrasha and just put the maaser right back into the pile with the rest of the produce?

C. Are  there other hechsherim that play this monkey business too?

Because they publicly demonstrate how little they care about it.
Politics and demonstrations aside, can you elaborate?

Rabbanut Mehadrin in Jlem is more reliable than the badatz for Treumos Umaaseros IMO. Most (all?) of the hotels in Israel only use Mehadrin vegetables since the rabbanut is very strict on bugs and doesn't allow non gush Katif lettuce even if the mashgiach checks and washes it

Infantile fear mongering with irrelevant quotes aside, the Rabbanut gives Maaser Ani to the poor whereas the Badatz does not.
Because it provides the information people in this thread are seeking to know.
I didn't want to get involved in this as these arguments rarely make a difference in anyone's mindset, but you keep on pushing this point.
I'm not sure if you are being intentionally misleading or if you were unfortunately mislead but Rabbanut and the Eida are not differing in what they hold about this. The fruit and vegetables reach them at different halachik stages. Tevel vs Demai (or safek). The Eida agrees that at the Rabbanut stage they need to do it the way they do, and the Rabbanut agrees they would do it the way the Eida does at their stage. Your misinformation is doing no favors for anyone.

Anyone can suggest  restaurants that aren't cheap schnitzel stores and aren't expensive steakhouses?

Atza
Tak-a-wok
La Casa

What else? Has to have a good non sephardic hechsher.

Anyone ever try Regina in Tel Aviv.

http://www.reginarest.co.il/אודות/הכשרות-שלנו/

Interesting approach, not paying the Rabbanut for it’s “Mehadrin” certificate, and instead getting a separate attestation as to the Kashrus level in addition.

Not surely how this story exactly jives with what the certificate says about the owner, but it might be some kind of JV.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!
