Free misc. Amazon products
« on: May 07, 2018, 02:23:18 PM »
There's a company that is giving away free products on amazon (quality water bottles, toys, games, etc.) in exchange for a review. Basically to launch new products and get some traction on amazon. I've recently done this and they are looking for a lot more "reviewers". Here's there landing page that explains more:

https://value1stmarketing.lpages.co/amz-launch-%20group-2-%200/

Disclaimer: my brother-in-law is one of the owners. It is very straight forward though...they just want amazon reviews for there products

yup.
Although a way around it would be to say that it is not required but much appreciated if you leave a review on the products you try

not if you arent requiring a review, just saying that it would be nice. There were sites dedicated to this kind of thing, they just changed their wording to say that it is not required and they continue to offer products for free or discounted

I guess I don't honestly know all the terms and conditions, but I guess that's for the seller to worry about. As a buyer, I don't see any issues. You aren't asked to make fake reviews. You're asked to give real, honest reviews.

First of all, you aren’t a buyer. And second, anyone writing a review without writing a disclosure that it is a review of free product is clearly violating the FTCs guidelines. I’m not claiming the FTC will go after any small fries I’m just stating the facts.

I'm not sure what you mean that I'm not a buyer. I call the person buying the product the "buyer"...even if they are getting reimbursed. I'm definitely not a seller. I was just sharing the deal, I have nothing to do with the company. Thanks for the feedback, I've never looked into the FTC guidelines, so that's good info to know. "Buy/review" at your own risk.

You are not a buyer. You are getting free product in exchange for a review.
Worth noting that nowadays, most reviewers are actually getting paid more than their purchase price.
You are promoting a product in return for free goods and/or payment without a disclosure.

I'm not trying to accuse or say you or anyone is a sinner, or that anyone will get caught (I highly doubt it), I'm just stating how the FTC looks at it.

You can give away products for free, but can’t ask straight for reviews.

What will this website be different vs. rebatekey.com ?

So I've been reviewing for quite a while. Close to everything in my dorm room is free. From my pillow to my bedding to my chair to my speakers etc. It's great, however it is time consuming.
I stopped somewhere around a half a year ago for because Amazon started being not makpid shutting down threatening lawsuits  etc. At that point, I felt it's just not worth it.
The way amazon knows it's fake is off a few things.
1 if the products was bought with gc on many occasions.
2 constantly posting long reviews without good reason.
3 exaggeration
4 activity.
Those are the ones I know about.
They've actually gotten pretty good on a few of the chats I'm on, ppl have gotten shut down. So be careful!  Enjoy!

There are so many ways for Amazon to know, a common link is that many reviewers review the same products, have questionably higher ratings than everyone else on a consistent basis, use the same terminology, etc. Basically take a look at reviewmeta to see their criteria to determine whether reviews are fake or not, they have done a good job at breaking it down.

You dont have to be a buyer to leave a review, I am reviewing the product. If the company offers free products and doesnt require a review then I dont see what the problem is. That link about how it is illegal was only talking about a review on a product that you never really tried, it was about fake reviews. This is an honest review of a product that youve tried. The issue is only with Amazon's t&c and from my understanding if the company isnt requiring a review then it doesnt violate the terms.
