My Rov told me who to call, but thanks for playing.I had gotten the same psak from Rav Ashkenazi in the past.[ Invalid YouTube link ]
I wonder what those same Rabbonim would have answered if the question would have been phrased "could I keep 2 days Yom Tov" rather than "do I need to keep two days".
This is the first I'm ever hearing that there's a Chabad minority opinion that holds you don't go by the place where you are.I have a family member that wrote a safer on the subject. Can you please show us more on whose opinion this is and where ?
The question was how many days should be held as a member of Chabad anash.
Pardon my ignorance. But why is this somthing that you'd need to ask a Ruv ?Is this not clear cut ? The Rav holds you go by the place where you are. No ?
We don't do everything that it says in Shulchan Aruch Harav.
I am no Rov or Posek. But I would do anything possible in order to have as much Yom Tov as possible. I really feel bad for people that have abbreviated Yomim Toivim.
Just something to keep in mind. YT = DerabananTefillan = Deoraissa
But hasn't this been the מנהג practiced during the Rebbes time ?The Rebee didn't give הערות on this ?
ירושלמי ערובין ג;טI can't get over that you honestly believe that it's better to be chayav in two days yuntif. Again, what one should do when traveling to EY is a halachik shailah, but to think that two days yuntif is lechatchila is mind boggling
I know of Lubavitchers that avoid EY on YT, but those that are here in EY almost all do one day.
With such בקיאות in ירושלמי, I am sure you must also be familiar with the Rambam that holds that one should keep two days in most places in Eretz Yisroel nowadays.
@Ergel wasn't referring to the halachic question.
Seriously. Now do you want to respond to the actual point?
Isn't it beautiful that one can pick which Rov to ask in order to get the answer one wants to get.My son, I guess taking after his father, chose to spend Shavuos in Tzfas where he could spend 2 days Yom Tov without being the only one doing so. (Though several years ago I must have been the only person keeping 2nd day where I was stuck for Shavuos).
AFAIK from a Halachic standpoint the Rambam is a דעת יחיד. @Dan I'll let you explain this one (ביום עשתי עשר יום ), we don't really care much about שכר.
I sure hope nobody is taking halachic advice from a forum post.
Both officer's started screaming at me (assuming I keep 2 days as well)"how can you go to shul tomorrow and not wear tfillin" "You're in Israel and here it's not chag"
