Lets wait till the end of the week to start calling the bottom.... its only right that the market rebounds a little after what has gone on these past few days.

....and all the Warren Buffets' start espousing. No one here has any clue where the market is headed. For all you know the Europeans could get their act together and that will make the u.s. look worse, or the u.s. might become a haven of sorts, despite its problems, as a result of the absolute fiscal mess in Europe.

I did not expect this at all. I was thinking maybe at most a 200pt up. I haven't been following the news, anything significant?
Because if this is just a correction, that should mean that the markets are pretty strong

The fed guaranteeing rates low for at least 2 years, I guess they were desperate.

I was listening to Bloomberg with a half ear last night, but most of the ppl they interviewed said that that is a bad thing for banks, which was what was weighing down the market yesterday. Meaning that it should be bad news.

market going up 1 or 2 days isn't a sign of recovery you goto watch the market a few days on the + side.

But a 400+ day would seem to indicate that it's not that weak. Doesn't mean we're not in a recession that might take a few years to get out of, but I no longer think we are ready to collapse.

maybe its not that weak but we goto wait another few days to see if we're really not ready to collapse.

look back at Sep 15' 2008 (the day Lehman Bros. files bankruptcy), the markets lost like meshiga, then when up 2 days then back down .......... and you all know where we ended up it took more then 2 year to reach back to the same position,

so you cant judge the markets even by a few days, you should look at at-least 2 week or so .....

this is not '08 for many reasons.

I am not saying this is bottom (although it's smells close) but what is going on is panic selling because everyone is selling everyone is selling.
