tried following these instructions...didn't workhttps://www.tenormanmike.com/website-and-hosting-issues/how-to-install-a-lets-encrypt-ssl-on-a-shared-godaddy-hosting-account/
Where do you get stuck?
Creating the files that show ownership
Did you followhttps://www.godaddy.com/help/installing-third-party-ssls-on-cpanel-accounts-12027
is it hard to setup https for a site? i tried reading up on it but the words might as well be in a foreign language
don't most companies who sell the ssl certificate also install them?
since it's "easy" to do it yourself, I was hoping to save some money. There are companies that give free certificates.
who gives free? It cost me $100 for 3 years
Yes it would, in any event you shouldn't use the same password for 2 sites not a big issue here unless you're afraid someone might hijack your HT or likes.if Dan is interested to implement HTTPS you can do it free with https://letsencrypt.org/ which is supported, sponsored and developed by major Tech companies.if you'r using AWS maybe look into https://community.letsencrypt.org/t/aws-announces-certificate-manager-similar-to-le/9289
Anyone willing to do this for me? Willing to pay
don't forget if you're on a shared environment most likely you'l need to repeat the steps every three months might not be cost effective.
Why every three months?
So your saying just let GoDaddy do it for me and pay them?
