For what you will spend at
Roy's Sheepshead Cycle
2679 Coney Island Ave, Brooklyn, NY
you can get 3 at Walmart.

I just bought a Schwinn 700c for my teeneage son who uses it to commute to school daily as well. It cost me $215 plus $20 to have it put together. You can get similar bikes at Walmart for less.

If you don't not mind spending a bit more you can get a very decent bike at Roy's as well as you get maintenance for the first year.

Yes I've gotten all my past bikes in Walmart, try to go for companies like Schwinn( if you plan on buying it from Wal-Mart as that's considered the top of the line considering all the bikes I've seen them sell) which were great decent bikes and should I have had any problems i went straight back to Walmart as i usally bought a Protection plan for the bike.

It's worth going to Brands. You may pay a bit more and it is def a schlep from Brooklyn but it's well worth it. They're don't try just to make a sale. They really want to make sure you have a bike that is right for you. And they fit you extremely well. For somebody that is going to ride regularly, this is very important. Not only because it will make your ride easier, it will also help prevent injury. (And I've been to several shops, including Oceanside and Roy's).
