Whats the difference if you charge immediately to 90% or if you schedule 90% at 8am? Its at 90% regardless when it charges
The battery is best kept at 50% holding it at 90% is straining the battery, which ideally you want to do for the least time possible.

Some electricity providers charge different rates for off peak hours
Additionally in nyc there is a program from coned that gives rewards for charging at night
