I've ran an event or two, and by no means were they as complicated as this. I'd have to say that a free ticket is still probably not worth it. If there isn't a few bucks being made for the countless days of work going into this, I don't it would be happening, and rightfully so! 
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

i don't think the events you ran were on your bucket list
+1 nor were you getting a $20,000 or even more for ur work. ( im assuming that dan  will be staying in one of the upper end suites)

Since when does Dan value things by price paid? That goes against the entire value proposition of UR, MR and SPG.

While we can all sit here and play "armchair Dan"/make up theories about how he is or is not being compensated, Dan has stated numerous times that this trip is priceless and a "bucket list" item for him. If anything, the value is more than the retail price!

If I had 12 days and $15k to spare and also didn't struggle with motion sickness, I'd be there in a heartbeat., and I think my wife would understand.
