Author Topic: United's 777-300ER's HORRENDOUS economy seats! (Read 3833 times)

I fly to TLV fairly often, generally out of EWR. I once was on the new 777-300ER, which replaced the 777-200 on that run. It is an AWFUL aircraft, giving you an awful flight, if you happen to fly economy. If you're in business it may be better, but for the regular folk, forget it! The 777-200 seat width was 18.3", the 300ER is 17". The recline used to be 5", now it's 3". So they took 1.3" out of the 9 seats, that's 11.7". They added a 17" seat, and so had to take 5.3" out of the aisles. So each aisle is now 2.7" narrower. If you like to walk in the aisle or bring a carry-on on board, don't think about wheeling it down that aisle! Can the collective might of Dans Deals do something about this? Put pressure on them not to do this??? They will be changing the afternoon flight in the next 4 months or so, and those flights are just terrible. The seats are NOT comfortable at all, and I'm looking for an alternative to United, but am not sure what there is. Any thoughts?

Elal's older planes will have the most comfortable coach flying experience, specifically the 777 that's only a 3-3-3.

End of the day, people want to pay the lowest price. Airline seats are going to keep going in this direction. 10 across 777 will be standard.

Dreamliner is narrower than 777 and is also 3-3-3

ELAL Dreamliners 787 are a drop better. No?

The 767 is best with 33-34" in economy, wide non-slimline seats, and 2-4-2 config. which is great if you're a couple. I don't care about IFE so overheads don't bother me.

I'll be sad to see them go actually :-)

Oh wow, going to be on the 777-300ER in the next couple of months, any recommendations? they want to charge about 180 a leg for a upgrade to economy plus.

I guess I didnt think about it too much. I was booking through chase portal as well and needed specific flights and dates.

767 is 2-3-2 on LY
