Conversation on family whatsapp group:

Daughter1 (currently in Montreal):  Tatty, what did the Frenchies win? The Frenchies are going crazy?

Daughter2: Maybe the world cup?

Daughter1: What is that?

Daughter2: I have no idea what that is, but the British girls were really sad that they lost last week

I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

  • Programs: 1. Search on google. 2. Search in the right board of DDF with a general word or two. 3. Read the wiki. 4. Read the thread. 5. Ask away.

They only recently started getting high calibre foreign players. Before recently Beckham was the only one.

MLS doesn't have to be popular for soccer to be popular. You can already watch all Premier League games, why would you need to bother with MLS? Even with America not playing, the World Cup was a conversation point for average Americans. If you haven't noticed a huge uptick in soccer interest, you're blind. Soccer interest will almost certainly translate to increased interest in MLS (some cities, like Seattle, already have huge fanbases with sellouts every game). I'm not saying it will be anywhere close to being in the realm of the big 4 in 5 years or any amount of years. But soccer is here even if MLS isn't.

How can you watch the premier league in the US? Also, champions league? I’m having such issues with that.

What a beat down. The celebrations were over the top.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Stop listening to whatever the fake news media tells you, it so wasn;t over the top and each one had it's own backstory
they were quite tame at the end
(except for mabye Rapinoe's but she has a major chip on her shoulder...)

I watched the game. What do mean "except for mabye Rapinoe's". That is like saying someone is a virgin except for that one time.  :)

In case anyone is wondering what we are talking about here it is. No they didn't win the world cup. This put them up 9-0? So I ask you all, over the top?

its the biggest game of their lives. They should be allowed to celebrate even if its 50-0

She isn't a rookie and this isn't her first goal. I coached soccer many years. I can tell you first hand after that celebration down 8-0 I would have to tell the players in no uncertain terms not to take her out.

I agree that this was over the top, and thats why i singled her out (and the whole beginning of her celebration was with herself)
My only point was, that she has a history of it being everything about her
Case in point, the anthem stuff and her LGBQ outspokenness etc etc.
Alex Morgan was practically apologetic on goals 4 and 5
Carli's at 13... she needed that real bad, just to show she's still got it and belongs on the roster
