If they dont get an SS#, there isnt ANY effect on the credit. If they do, there MAY be, but even so, it likely wouldnt be a pull.
that's not true. there is no pull, but there is definitely a effect on the credit, because it's added as a new account on their credit. depending on your credit score/report relative to theirs, is what will determing how it effects them.
Maybe you need to reread what I wrote.
First, if they do not get a SS#, it will not be showing up on your credit report, as they have no way of tying the additional card account to a member's credit without the SS# (or at the very least an address).
Second, see bold above. "May be" means--at least where I come from--that there is a
possibility it will affect the credit report. If they report it, it'll show up as a new account. If they don't report it, it won't.
However, in BOTH cases, it will not result in a hard pull.
