You can open Fidelity accounts and keep the money in Money Market funds earning around 5% (or buy treasuries at auction).

Just opened with the link- thanks! It’s saying money transferred today will be completed Tom- but funds available only on 1/9? Is this delay for every deposit or just first time?

I had the same with Popular Direct.


After noticing I'm not getting the higher rate I called and was told the top rate is for a new account and need to manually call in to switch to the very similarly named account..


Had to do this twice as rates kept going up.
