I don't know why it's so hard for everyone here to understand how banking with chase can lead to a review and a shutdown. Even if you think that what you are depositing into and using your bank account for is completely normal, Chase is being a little crazy right now and I would avoid using them for anything that I didn't absolutely have to. Call me crazy and tell me I'm worrying for no reason but I'm trying to be as careful as I can with Chase right now and I suggest most people do the same.

Just spoke to someone with no shtick on the account (he's 63 - he doesn't even know how) that had his cc closed. All he had was a freedom unlimited. Never had any other cards from Chase (at least not in the past decade). He called and they won't tell him a reason. They said he'll receive a letter in a few days.

No. Just his cc. He applied for another cc last week and was denied (if that info helps at all)

My Brother in Law just received a letter yesterday from Chase thaat they are closing his Checking account, the closing date is July 7th. He tried extending the closing date and nothing helped.

Was this other cc application with Chase?

Was this application before or after the closure of the Freedom card?
