Were these AU's household members? They are talking about credit piggybacking and that will get your accounts closed in a heartbeat.

The AU gets your good credit rating becsue he's on a card with a good history/score etc.  Doing that for 'strangers' is aparently 'risky' or 'fraudulent'.

Not just apparently. It is. And they are risk averse, if it smells they'll shut it.
I have a business card with multiple au, all legit and added organically. They have no problem with that.

Could be. Exactly my point. Business cards is a normal place to have multiple unrelated users for a legitimate purpose. Personal cards are not

I have a bunch of AU's on my Ritz card but they're all the same last name and same address so that may be why I've never had a problem.

b"h for that, however it seems that within the last 2-3 weeks they have changed around the system, or the shutdowns that I am aware of are different shutdowns - they are from the compliance department and there is no one to talk to.

Ok, so either for everyone, or my type of shutdown -there is no one to talk to.

Question is, do I

1. File a CFPB complaint? (I have heard they are mostly useless these days, has there been one success chase story with them ever??)

2. Speak to a lawyer, small claims court etc (I think I have a very good case, most of my family that got shutdown got the reason because of "our affiliate is ending it's relationship with you" and they dont have a bank account)

So my wife's Chase cards were shut down, I'm assuming my cards will be shut down AND my business checking account will be shut down. When a Chase checking account is shut down --is it immediate? i.e. will checks get bounced/ACH payments cancelled--or is there some lead time so it's not a disaster?

Also, do the spouse shutdowns usually happen a few days later--say if it doesn't happen for 2 weeks--is there a good chance the spouse is being shut down?
