Bose QC stopped working

Have a set of QC  15 that are/were great, but the light won't come on anymore and it doesn't work. Did some fiddling and research and is probably related to the wire that is on the battery door, opening and closing many times, it wears out. Seems to be a known problem.

Bose will replace with a QC 25 for $135.

Is that my best bet or any other suggestions?

They didnt offer and I didnt ask, I just thought that since QC 15 is discontinued  they are offering this instead.

A lot of people say its a design flaw to put the wire in that place where its going to wear out.

the 25 now goes for $199 on amazon, so it's just a little discount rather than replacement.

re the wire, I tried, but the wire is really flimsy and the space is small, so couldn't do it.

After a long hold and special consideration they offered the QC 35 for $220. Not sure which series.

So it's a discounted price but wasn't really planning on spending so much. I guess an advantage is that it would come with a warranty and doubled with cc.

Still debating...
