AS and UA and both great packages. The UA package just better illustrates how lucrative the numbers are.

AS is just so difficult to rack up and being in BKK, it's the miles I need.

I wrote: "Never Noticed". Certainly doubt that you would have written it up as straight forward as milevalue. It would be too simple of a narticle to write up on its own for majority of your readers. 

P.S. The layout and wording somehow I find easier on milevalue. Or maybe it's just a second reading on DDMS.

I find united harder to rack up these days with 5/24 and bans from chase.

AS = measly 30k sign up bonus. Transfer from only SPG. United = Has the preffered/reserve/ink/ all with great sign up bonuses, but at the end of the day it boils down to what you need. For me. 55k for business is doable in this day and age. And that outways the 132 of United.

Yes, with all the talk about what will be with the hotel packages. A simple post reminding people to forget about the packages and if they're anyways looking at transfering that approx. amount of miles, just do a package regardless. You'll receive more miles in the 270k case.

it seems to be a machlokes. Dan says attach certificate to hotel while milesvalue says not to.

You sure? I just checked, I thought he goes back and forth still. (Not sure whether to rely on Lucas SPG representative). Either way, I wouldn't mind the option 2. 7 days (or any days ) is not practical for me.

Travel Package Strategy
If you are interested in a Marriott Travel Package, book it before August. You will pay less points for the seven night certificate and get more airline miles.


However I would wait out booking the hotel, not necessarily until August, but until we hear more from Marriott. We don’t know what’s going to happen to existing but unbooked Travel Package hotel certificates next month. It’s likely they will announce what they’re going to do with what are being called the “floater certificates” soon, and you can make a better decision as to whether to book now or wait until August based on how they will be treated in August.
