Check in only opens 3hrs prior to flight, I'll be sure to be there so we can check in together (that way you get extra luggage)

I believe you're misunderstanding my proposition.
I have status with United which allows me to attach a companion to my PNR.
By doing so, companion will be allowed 3 70 lb bags +priority as long as we check in together.
Now companion has his luggage on his name and I have mine, on my name.

Once we board, you take my seat and I take yours.

Although some of you may think the price is steep.

If you were to upgrade your own ticket it would cost 30000 miles plus $600 copay and on this flight would only be waitlisted I'm offering a confirmed seat

OTP, they put a note that we're traveling together. Doesn't really have to be done to get the benefits but makes it easier.
Not to be confused with combining 2 PNRs which isn't possible AFAIK on UA

I normally sell my personal GS "advice" for $1000 and thats after the buyer upgrades his ticket to the right fare class.
Specifically on the these 2 routes where most of the time there is no R space.

vs 180k each way? Going rate is 1.3 $2340 plus $43 leaving EY.

tickets RT in J are ~6k (ex 7/31-8/6)
Book in Y for ~2k plus 1000 each way and you're flying RT J for 4k.

Your math is wrong since you booked for 70k so it isn't 180k per way.
If you were booking for 180k you wouldn't sell the "upgrade" for $1000.
Besides System wide upgrades go for a lot less then $1000.

And system wide upgrade do go for less, but I offer a service that clears with no R/PN space.
